Lately, it's gotten to be much harder for a power supply company to get ahead. The competition is fierce, and it's only going to get more so as time goes on. Seasonic decided that in the X series they were going to go out on a limb, design a new platform from the ground up, and then toss it into the shark tank that is the power supply market.

The power supply is the most important peice of computer hardware we will ever purchase. Having too little of a power supply in our computers, can give us lower performance levels, overheating, lock ups, crashes, to all out torching of our most valued computer components.

It has been some time since we have had our hot little hands on a power supply from our good friends at Seasonic, so when I received and email last week asking if I would like to review their new S12D power supply I immediately responded back that we would love the chance. Lediglich bezuglich der Kuhlleistung muss man einen kleinen Kompromiss eingehen.

With the M12II 500W, Seasonic seems to have manufactured the perfect power supply for consumers looking for modularity without breaking the bank.
The only other area we found needed some improvement was with the +12V rail outputs. While a combination of 17A and 18A should be more than enough for anyone, we would have preferred to have seen either two 18A rails or a single, larger rail.

Seasonic's M12II 500w sets a high standard for power supplies. Its target market is gamers, and the look and style of the unit would fit well in any case with a window. Entsprechend besitzt es auch das relativ neue 80 Plus Zertifikat, welches dafur steht, dass das Netzteil bei 20, 50 und 100 Prozent Auslastung einen Wirkungsgrad uber 80% und einen Power Faktor uber 0.9 aufweist. Gut gefallen haben auch das sinnvolle Kabelmanagement und die hohe Verarbeitungsqualitat.

The older S12 has a serious reputation for quality and performance, and the M12 has managed to take the basis of its success and improve it to blissful perfection.

the power supply was unusually quiet, even in the Max Load tests. There were no problems keeping the system stable and running, nor were there overheating problems...Overall, this is an excellent power supply for anyone looking for performance and an extremely quiet fan.

Bref, les Seasonic restent des modeles fiables, puissants, silencieux et parmi les meilleurs blocs du marche actuel. Attention toutefois aux fausses affirmations sur les 4 rails et au marketing rampant ! Ils nous laissent une excellente impression finale et l'on attend la suite pour avoir encore mieux. Ce n'est pas une coincidence si de grandes marques font desormais sous-traiter leurs alimentations par Seasonic..

Excellent power supply for the intended market. A few things here and there that's not really a totally huge complaint, but what the heck -- the Seasonic M12 500W is going to stay in my computer. It's something I would use, and in fact, I am using it right now
