Q33
I am not sure if the fan speed of my S12 is normal. What's the normal fan speed of the S12?

S12 is equipped with Seasonic's unique S2FC design. It adjusts the fan speed automatically in accordance with the temperature of your computer system. The fan RPM will range between 700 to 1900. Under typical conditions, the fan should be approx. 700~1000 RPM. When the system load and/or temperature is high, it may reach 1800 RPM. Note that the RPM monitored by the motherboard is not always accurate; not only are there variances up to 10-20%, sometimes the reported RPM can be double or half the actual speed. Should the RPM data seem abnormal, users are recommended to double-check with another monitoring software.

Q34
What's the difference between S12-500/600 & SS-500/600HT models?

The S12 series is along with black coating, 3-year warranty and supplied in retail package, which is for clone market. And the model SS-500/600HT is designed for system integrators and other OEM customers. Both comply with newest ATX12V PS design guide, with Active PFC and 12cm cooling fan. Based on the same circuit.

Q35
Why Seasonic S12 series does not add the length of cables?

The MB manufacturerˇ¦s allocation on MBˇ¦s component follows the individual consideration. Therefore, the manufacture of PSU must sacrifices the efficiency and adds the length of cable to fit all the market. Recent years, Intel dedicates to integrating the efficiency of system and promoting the new idea of BTX system. Intel formally plans all componentsˇ¦ allocation on the MB. The united standard makes the relationship between PSU and MB clearer. There is no need for PSU manufacture to add the length of cable blindly and sacrifice the efficiency of PSU. Seasonic replies the standard to firstly change the length of cable to what it is right now to fit the technical and marketing trend.
