Sea Sonic Contribution to a Better World

Since 1975, Sea Sonic has always been at the forefront of advancing the PC power supply market through innovations aimed at energy savings and sustainability for a greener future of our planet. Some of the most notable achievements include:

  • 80 PLUS® launch partner: Sea Sonic partnered with Ecos Consulting, the initiator of the 80 PLUS® program, to work out efficiency standards for power supplies. In 2005, Sea Sonic led the world in acquiring 80 PLUS® certification, a standard that certifies high power conversion efficiency. Sea Sonic was also the first company to acquire the 80 PLUS GOLD® certification in 2008. The higher the efficiency of a power supply product is, the more energy we save globally. Today, the highest power supply certification is at the Titanium level, where efficiency is at an incredible 94% under 50% load.
  • The use of APFC technology in power supply manufacturing enhances energy efficiency, resulting in lower energy costs and reduced environmental impact.
  • Sea Sonic was a pioneer in the usage of auto-insertion and surface-mount technology, which allows for the usage of generally smaller components, to promote designs with higher component-density. These new methods help reduce the use of materials and not only further the advancement of technology but also promote sustainability.
  • By using high-quality components and reliable designs, the performance of the products can be improved, efficiency increases, waste is reduced, and sustainability improves.
  • Sea Sonic stands behind its products with a long warranty term. High-quality design and top-level manufacturing have led to an increased life cycle of the products. Consequently, when products can be used for a longer time, waste minimization ultimately contributes to sustainability.

Sea Sonic successfully achieved the requirements of ISO 14064-1:2018 standard for the quantification and reporting of organizational greenhouse gas emissions and removals, laying a solid foundation for carbon footprint monitoring and management within the entire organization. In close cooperation with its stakeholders, Sea Sonic is fulfilling its social obligation by integrating sustainable development into its operation as a core value to establish a greener and more sustainable tomorrow. Looking ahead into 2023 and beyond, the company’s goal is set to reinforce an advanced ESG information integration system, aiming to meet carbon footprint goals more effectively through efficient resource utilization.

Considering the social aspects of sustainability, Sea Sonic believes that the education and the health of future generations are such important foundations that supporting these will make a significant difference in the long run. The reason why Sea Sonic chose to participate in the programs of UNICEF and the China Social Welfare Foundation is the desire to improve the living conditions and lives of the young by establishing a more stable future for them.

For children in the Ivory Coast, Sea Sonic is a proud sponsor of the United Nations Children's Fund’s Plastic Bricks initiative. This innovative program collects plastic waste and transforms them into safe and sustainable building materials at a low cost to build schools for local children.
Plastic is one of the worst pollutants in the world, and every step we take to help reduce this problem counts. By eliminating waste and repurposing plastic, at the same time, we can add more value to it by providing a safe space for children to get an education.
